Good Neighbor Day Festival Sets New Record; Celebrates Importance of Being a Good Neighbor
Over 4,695 people attended this year's Good Neighbor Day Festival at the Southeast Community Center in Antioch. This is the largest crowd since its beginning in 2013.
Mayor John Cooper and many other elected officials participated with neighborhood and community leaders in the Good Neighbor Parade. Mayor Cooper encouraged everyone who attended his inauguration to join him at the festival.
Daniel Tiger from PBS Kids' Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood joined us for the entire day -- much to the delight of the children. Special thanks to NPT, Fred Rogers Productions, and PNC Bank for this partnership.
The Chili Cook-Off was a great success. Our judges this year were Tuwanda Coleman and Lelan Statom from News Channel 5 and Todd Varallo of Varallo's Restaurant & Chili. And the winners were...
Historic Buena Vista Community Association (First Place)
Caldwell Abbay Hall Neighborhood Association (Second Place)
College Hill Neighborhood Association (Third Place)
The Marketplace featured 76 vendors this year (a new record!). The vendors offered a wide range of products and services and really enjoyed being there.
