Neighborhood associations are unique in the civic landscape, They are local, independent and have community betterment missions. Therefore, neighborhood associations have the ability to further the public good. It's important to engage residents as partners in change so that all residents have the opportunity to participate in important decisions and take action to improve their community.
All workshops will be held on the second Saturday of each month (October, November, January, and February) from 9:00 am - 12:00 am. Check-in will begin at 8:30 am.

The Engaging Our Neighbors Training Certificate will deepen the participants:
Understanding of what resident engage engagement is, why it's important and what it looks like in action
Learn critical skills and capabilities that are needed to more effectively engage residents
Identify specific steps that should be taken in order to engage residents in addressing issues that affect them.
ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The Neighborhood Leadership Certificate Program provides the next level of learning for individuals seeking to amplify their impact. These certificates are designed around key areas necessary for a neighborhood organization's success. The first certificate, launched in 2018, is Neighborhood Organizing Essentials. Additional certificates scheduled for release are Engaging Our Neighbors (2019), Planning and Zoning 101 (2020), Neighborhood Strategic Planning, Governance, and Meeting Facilitation.

Neighborhood Organizing Essentials
This series of workshops provides residents with the essential organizing skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to be an effective neighborhood organizer.
Whether you are working on your own, a member of a neighborhood organization, or the elected officer of an organization, this LEVEL ONE Certificate Program will set you on the path toward success.
